Portrait Photography Training – Using Flash Outdoors & Indoors
Our portrait photography training day will help you to develop confidence using flash outdoors and indoors. Learn how to manipulate light to get the effect you want. Flash doesn’t have to be limited to the studio. It can make a great contribution to outdoor portraits as well. We will be looking at how to balance flash with the ambient light and which modifiers to use.
Flash units and triggers will be provided. There will be opportunities to try different modifiers to see the effects they have. If you are thinking of buying flash kit and modifiers then this is your chance to try them out in a real shoot before committing your hard earned cash!
Our outdoor location is a private garden with pond, trees, flower beds and other beautiful features. Numbers are strictly limited to keep the group small so that everyone has plenty of shooting time and time to ask questions. We will be working with a top quality local model to ensure you can build your confidence and achieve some good images.
You will need to bring a camera with a hotshoe for a flash trigger. DSLR, bridge cameras and mirrorless cameras normally have a hotshoe mount on the top. If in doubt about the suitability of your kit please contact us before booking. You will probably want a lens in the region of 35mm to 200mm depending on the type of shot you would like to achieve. Tripods are not needed. Hot and cold drinks will be provided. Parking is free. Please either bring your own lunch or money to buy something nearby.
Boost your confidence and your skills. Learn posing techniques, using flash outdoors and in studio in a fun learning environment. This day is for anyone who wants to learn to control light and create beautiful portraits.
