Southwold beach is a very popular seaside location in Suffolk. The pier at Southwold is very photogenic, also providing panoramic views of the coastline. This is a great location for landscape photographers. If you can be up early for a sunrise, you get a good view from this east-facing beach. We run our long exposure photography workshop here as well as in Cromer & Hunstanton in Norfolk. There are good car parking facilities with a pay and display car park right next to the sea front. The colourful beach huts are also worth a look and make interesting photographic subjects. Further south along the coast from the pier there is a lighthouse. You can often get good views of the sunset looking inland from the pier. Find out when our next long exposure workshop is by looking at our photography workshops page. One of Joe’s monochrome images taken at Southwold won a Gold award in the monochrome section of the Societies’ monthly competition. You can see this and other award-winning pictures on our gallery of award-winning images.
