studio photography training - male portrait

Learn how to use flash to create great portraits in our Studio Photography Training session. If you want to be a professional photographer or an accomplished photographer of any kind it makes a big difference if you can understand how to manipulate light. Even if you don’t work in a studio, being able to control flash lighting is a key skill if you want to produce stunning location photography. We will be looking at several different lighting setups and the moods that they convey. We will also look at the use of modifiers and what difference they make to the light. You will learn to create setups that suit male or female portrait photography.

Advanced Photoshop Techniques - Lindsey Portrait

You do not need any previous experience in portrait photography for our Studio Photography Training session. We will be working with a model so you will find it easier to get good pictures. You do not need to have any of your own lights before attending. In fact, you’ll gain a better idea of what to consider buying and why through this workshop. The group will be kept to just a handful of people so you are certain to get plenty of time taking images and have every opportunity to ask questions.

Equipment needed: a camera that allows you to set everything up manually (Manual aperture, shutter speed and ISO), such as a DSLR or equivalent with “M” mode. Your camera also needs to have a hotshoe plate – this is to enable a trigger to be attached that will fire the flash. Compact cameras may not have this facility. Please make sure you check this before booking as your session is non-refundable. If you are in any doubt about your equipment, please get in touch with us and check.

Places are strictly limited to just 3 people and are only available through advance online booking using this form below. Full payment is due up front – we will not take payment on the day. Please ensure we have a current email and phone number when booking so that we can contact you with final arrangements a few days before the workshop.
