Food Photography Workshop - Sample pic-3

Discover simple techniques to make food look good in this food photography workshop. We will be working both indoors and outdoors (weather permitting). You will work with natural light and also with flash. Learn how easy it can be to control the lighting and enhance your subject. Also, we will be covering retouching techniques for your food images in both Lightroom and Photoshop. If you like photographing your food and want to improve or are hoping to do some professional food photography work then this is the training day for you!

Food Photography Workshop - Sample pic-2Ideally you will have a DSLR with a macro lens (capable of focussing up close to the subject). The best lenses for this workshop are around 50-100mm. Your camera should at least allow you to alter the aperture, shutter speed and ISO. Lights and triggers will be supplied on the day. You may like to bring your own tripod if you like to work on a tripod.

We will work with a variety of foods and some drinks to produce images like those you see on this page. Please let us know when booking if you have any allergies that might restrict what we use on the day. Please bring your own lunch with you. Hot and cold drinks will be provided.

This food photography workshop is limited to a maximum of 4 participants. You will receive in depth instruction and there will be plenty of time to shoot. To get the most out of the image editing part of the day please bring along a laptop with Photoshop on it (Lightroom as well if possible). This is not absolutely essential but it will help you make progress more quickly and enable you to practise the techniques immediately.

This training day may also suit small businesses that sell food products and wish to do their own photography. You will learn basic skills for reliably good images, including simple styling tips. You do not need experience using studio lighting. If you have any doubts about your equipment or skill level then please do get in touch before booking.
