Is he a detective or a gangster? Tell your own story in film noir style with exciting dramatic lighting. In this specialist workshop we will be exploring high contrast, controlled lighting to re-create the feel of film noir. We will be shooting with the intention of converting the images to black and white. Our model on the day is a local male actor. He will help us to create images that tell a story and create intrigue and mood. Gavin is featured in the images on this page. The images here are indicative of the sort of thing we will be doing in the Film Noir photography workshop.

Some lighting setups will be very simple, using just one light. Others will be more complex with multiple flashes. Lighting equipment will be provided. Our triggers work with cameras with a standard hotshoe (Nikon, Canon). Mid range to telephoto lenses will work best. If you have any doubt about the suitability of your equipment or skill level please do contact us before booking.
