Dramatic Lighting & Gels Workshop – Focussed Professional Photography Training

Learn more advanced lighting techniques in this dramatic lighting and gels workshop. You will need a basic understanding of studio lighting (for example, you have already attended our studio lighting workshop). We will be building lighting setups to create moody shots with shadows and contrast. The images featured on this page show the kind of thing you will be creating. You will learn how to control the lighting to get the results you want. This is a learning experience not simply gathering shots for your portfolio.

Dramatic lighting & gels workshop-4

We will also look at how to use gels in these low key, high contrast styles. Flash gels are a great tool for bringing a splash of colour to an image and creating a different feel.

Dramatic lighting & gels workshop-2

We only have 3 places available on this workshop to ensure that all participants get a great learning environment with time to ask questions, try out lighting setups and take plenty of shots. You will not be queuing up only to take a few shots. Participants will have interacted with the lights and modifiers to ensure that everyone understands how to create these results. We will be supplying the lights and triggers so you don’t need to bring your own. Our triggers fit a standard hotshoe (e.g. Nikon, Canon, etc). We recommend lenses in the region of 35-105mm for this workshop. If you have any questions about kit or are unsure if you (or the person you are thinking of buying this for) have the right skills to benefit from the session, please do contact us.

Dramatic lighting & gels workshop-5

As part of our Focussed Professional Photography Training, our dramatic lighting and gels workshop is aimed at more experienced photographers and particularly those who want to earn their living from photography. You will learn skills that give you greater artistic control and potential new products to offer your customers. You don’t have to be a professional photographer to book on this workshop, but it is not suitable for beginners.
